We started with one car and a lot of patience
Jalaram Driving School opened its doors in Shahibaug in 1992. Ahmedabad was a different city then — fewer cars, narrower roads, and far fewer people who thought driving was something they could learn as an adult.
What hasn't changed is the reason people come to us. Almost nobody arrives confident. They arrive worried they'll be shouted at, worried they'll damage something, worried they're too old or too nervous or too late to start. Our whole method is built around that: explain it, show it, let them try it, and repeat it as many times as it takes without making anyone feel foolish.
Over the years the consultancy side grew alongside the school. Students kept asking us to handle their licence paperwork, then their RC transfers, then their insurance. It turned out that the thing people valued most wasn't just the driving lesson — it was not having to stand in a queue at the RTO.
Today we run two branches, in Shahibaug and Asarwa, and we still teach the same way we did in 1992.
